While ISM students focus on conquering space, the University of Luxembourg organises numerous initiatives to help them take care of their bodies and minds. Its comprehensive Sports & Culture offer includes a wide range of sport and wellbeing courses, art workshops, cultural events, as well as access to its musical, theatre and dance ensembles, all free of charge.

Sport courses & teams

Sport courses include field hockey, aeroboxing, football (indoor and outdoor), climbing, Zumba®, cricket, latin dance, Jiu Jitsu, pilates, hip hop dance and many more. Students can also join the University’s  basketball, badminton, volleyball and soccer teams, and obtain free entrance to a local swimming pool.

Wellbeing courses

Every semester, the University invites its students to improve their concentration and wellbeing with the help of techniques and traditional disciplines such as yoga, sophrology, Reiki, mindfulness, Qi Gong, pilates and Tai Chi.

Art workshops

Fostering student creativity means helping them find solutions to tomorrow’s challenges, train their problem-solving skills, and lead more fulfilling lives. Some of the courses offered by the University include painting, Arabic calligraphy and ceramics.

Espace Cultures - cultural events, workshops & ensembles

Espace Cultures is the University’s forum for the expression of culture on our campuses and beyond. Art exhibits, concerts, workshops and architectural displays are just some of the numerous initiatives organised by the forum.

Through espace cultures, ISM students also have access to several university ensembles and  regular workshops to pursue their extracurricular passions, such as the Luxembourg University Choir, the UNIJam, the ANASEA World Music project, the Great Poets Society, the Apote African Dance workshops and many more.

In addition to these initiatives, the University of Luxembourg is a member of several international associations, such as the European Cultural Parliament (ECP) and the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA), which regularly organise student conferences and networking events.
